The Lighting Portal (www.thelightingportal.ucdavis.edu) is an online resource developed to present a contiguous location for energy efficiency enthusiasts, researchers, manufacturers, lighting designers, architects, policy makers, etc., to exchange ideas, information, and visions for the future.

The site is organized with two main sections: the forum and iSource. The forum, through online discussion groups (i.e. message or bulletin boards), supports visitor discussions and exchange of information. The topics of these boards include research opportunities, daylighting, codes and standards, human factors, and lighting technologies. The iSource section is a repository of links that connects visitors to online lighting resources. Another important part of the site is the Events calendar. There are many national events posted on the calendar, with the intention of sharing conference information and opportunities to those in the industry.
